Tesco and my family

I'd like to point out that not everyone on the site hate Tesco - some just dislike it. They point out their views reasonably and you can have a discussion with them. Now it sounds boring right? Don't worry there is a nutty few on the site who do hate tesco with a passion - one even claims Tesco makes them feel sick! They seem to have no rational thought process just an all consuming anger at Tesco and everything it stands for.
There are also a few strange people who claim that we are sad for posting on the site and discussing the issues. Don't they realise that most of us (the reasonable ones) are airing our views about Tesco?! And that the few of the more bizarre comments are not the views of us all. If I was to be childish about it I'd also point out that they also posted on the site so must also be sad!! (then I'd stick my tongue out and say "nur nur nunur nur!") As I'm more grown up than that I'll restrain myself.
I did first start reading the site just for the strange and bizarre comments .... now I'm slowly but surely getting addicted to logging on to see the latest complaint and weighing up which points I agree or disagree with. I know it sounds really sad but Tesco has made certain things possible for my family and I feel the need to fight it's corner I suppose.
Now you're wondering what Tesco could have possibly done for my family right?? Well I'll tell you. My Mother has worked at our local Tesco since before I was born. She started off on the evening shift - we had my Mum in the days and my Dad in the evenings. Once we were all at school they let her move shifts to fit in with our school hours. Then my youngest sister came along, they let her move back to her evening shift and then back again once Cyril (the youngest and no it's not her real name!) started school.
We are a large family and with the low prices and my Mums discount card my parents were able to buy more food than they would have otherwise.
My Mum was also given shares in Tesco - I don't know how many or how often - but they piled up and with a small amount of inheritance money and the money from the sale of her shares we had a small deposit for a house. Before that we were living in a tiny housing association property. We managed to move to a better area and my parents could relax in the knowledge that they were providing well for their children.

The benefits my Mother received (and still does) from working at Tesco have been brilliant for my family. The discount card, the shares, but most important to me was that they let her change shifts so she could see her children more, again when Cyril was born and again when she started school.

Tesco Haters

I'm back from Goa (very tanned!) and just checked out the latest on the Tesco-complaint blog. It's a fantastic site and if you have not already visited - go now and see for yourself. I lie to you not, it is the strangest, most addicting site I have come across in a long time.

I was getting bored of all the internet offered ....... every site seems to be a carbon copy of the one before with the same old faces logged on. I've even grown bored of youtube! When I first found the internet I would sit on it till the early hours of the morning surfing glorious site after glorious site. It soon wore off and I'm now just another cynical techie who is bored. The sites are no longer unique and exciting - they have lost their individuality.

I know there are a lot of complaint sites for a million different companies and products, but this is above all the best I have found. They are so against Tesco you'd think that the buildings came alive at night and ate small children!

As I said take a look for yourself and see what I mean.

P.S.
I knew that TM was a Tesco Manager - he fights for the cause with such passion he could not purely be playing at devils advocate.

OK, so maybe not love but I do like!

I like Tesco, I see no difference in Tesco than any other supermarket except for the fact that (what feels like) a million years ago I worked there. Don't get me wrong I didn't like sitting at a checkout all day on a Saturday, I can think of a billion much more interesting things I could have been doing - watching paint dry springs to mind! I got on well with most of my colleagues and managers (you'll find a few who rub you the wrong way anywhere!) we used to socialize a lot and it was great fun. My Mum still works there and has done since before I was born. They have great benefits and the pay wasn't too bad for retail work.
There I was the other day, minding my own business surfing the web - as you do - when I came across the best blog I have ever, ever seen!! I mean it was amazing!! It was all about Tesco's - no not tesco.com it was tesco-complaint.blogspot.com. They absolutely hate Tesco! It's a site for all who have had a bad experience with Tesco to moan - it's brilliant! All but one seem to hate Tesco ..... there is one individual who claims to be a Tesco Manager - I can't say he is although I would guess he must be! - and he is fantastic, he supports Tesco and attempts to rationalise with those that find Tesco an abomination be they employees, ex-employees or disgruntled customers. If this guy is not a manager at Tesco then he must love playing devils advocate.
Some of the complaints on there are ridiculous. They blame Tesco for just about everything.
Don't believe me? See for yourself ...... http://tesco-complaint.blogspot.com/
